
Gran Canaria is blessed with a wealth of natural resources, the most notable of these being the numerous and exquisite beaches of the island. Almost 60 of the 236 kilometres of Gran Canaria's coastline consist of beaches of various descriptions, ranging from the impressive Maspalomas beach, to the concealed and unspoilt beach of Guigui, as well as the lively beach in the capital, namely the Las Canteras beach.

Gran Canaria is a volcanic island with hot weather all year round , the capital is Las Palmas with the main tourists resorts located further round the island in Maspolmas, Playa Del Ingles, Puerto Rico and Port Mogan. Gran Canaria has a large gay community and hold a gay parade every May attracting gays from all over the world.
